Method

Pickle Preparation

  1. 1

    Drain the Pickles

Begin by draining the pickle slices thoroughly. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare the Egg Wash

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

  2. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate shallow dish, mix the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Breading Process

  1. 4

    Coat the Pickles

Take each pickle slice and first dip it into the egg wash, allowing excess to drip off. Then, coat it in the dry mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breading.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the breaded pickle slices to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

  3. 7

    Drain and Cool

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried pickles from the oil and drain them on paper towels. Let them cool slightly before serving.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve

Serve the fried pickle chips warm with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
