Preparing the Bread Pudding

Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine
Pour the wet mixture over the bread pieces and let it soak for about 15 minutes. Gently fold in the chopped pecans.

Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Making the Pecan Praline Rum Sauce

Cook the Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar and butter. Stir until melted and bubbly.

Add Cream and Rum
Slowly stir in the heavy cream and dark rum. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes until thickened.

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans. Let it cool slightly before serving.
