Fries
Method
Preparation and Cooking
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries.
Soak the Fries
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Potatoes
Drain the soaked fries and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add a batch of fries to the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Season the Fries
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with creole seasoning and salt to taste. Toss to coat evenly.
Serve
Serve hot as a delicious side dish to your favorite meal.
