Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mushrooms

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and tender. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1/3 lb each.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked patty with melted Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, tomato slices, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
