Walleye Cheeks

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Walleye Cheeks

Rinse the walleye cheeks under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Flour

In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  3. 3

    Dredge the Cheeks

Coat each walleye cheek in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.

  5. 5

    Fry the Cheeks

Carefully add the dredged walleye cheeks to the skillet in a single layer. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the walleye cheeks from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with lemon wedges and tartar sauce or your choice of sauce.
