Ingredients for Szechuan Style Baby Back Ribs

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rinse the baby back ribs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs if it's still attached.

  2. 2

    Make the Sauce

In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, Szechuan peppercorns, minced garlic, grated ginger, chili paste, and sesame oil. Mix until well blended.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Ribs

Place the ribs in a large resealable plastic bag or a dish and pour the sauce over the ribs. Seal the bag or cover the dish, making sure the ribs are well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  4. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Reserve the marinade. Cover the ribs tightly with foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.

  5. 5

    Glaze and Broil

Preheat the broiler. Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the foil. Brush the reserved marinade over the ribs. Broil the ribs for 5-7 minutes, until caramelized and slightly charred.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then slice the ribs. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
