Preparation
1. Prepare the Wafu Sauce
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and grated garlic. Mix well and set aside.
2. Prepare the Beef
Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and season with salt and black pepper.
3. Prepare the Vegetables
Slice the bell pepper, mushrooms, and onion, and chop the green onions.
Cooking
4. Sear the Beef
In a hot skillet or grill pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and sear until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
5. Cook the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper, mushrooms, and onion. Stir-fry until they are tender, about 3-4 minutes.
6. Combine and Finish
Return the beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the Wafu sauce over the mixture and stir well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until everything is heated through.
7. Serve
Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot with steamed rice.
