Ribs
Mongolian Sauce
Method
Preparation of Ribs
- 1
Season the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and ground ginger in a small bowl. Rub this spice mixture evenly over the baby back ribs.
- 2
Bake the Ribs
Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.
Making the Mongolian Sauce
- 3
Prepare the Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens slightly, about 10 minutes.
- 4
Finish the Sauce
Remove from heat and stir in the chopped green onions and toasted white sesame seeds. Set aside.
Finishing the Dish
- 5
Glaze the Ribs
Once the ribs are done baking, remove them from the oven and brush generously with the Mongolian sauce.
- 6
Broil the Ribs
Return the ribs to the oven and broil for about 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then cut into portions and serve with extra Mongolian sauce on the side.
