Burger Ingredients

Guava BBQ Sauce

Method

Prepare the Guava BBQ Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the Sauce

In a medium saucepan, combine guava paste, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cook the Burger

  1. 2

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into two equal patties.

  2. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 4

    Cook the Burgers

In the same skillet, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  4. 5

    Prepare the Onions

Thinly slice the onion and sauté in the same skillet until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

Toast the burger buns if desired. Place a burger patty on each bun, top with bacon, crispy onions, and a generous drizzle of guava BBQ sauce. Close with the top bun and serve.
