Scallops

Method

Prepare the Scallops

  1. 1

    Marinate the Scallops

In a bowl, mix together miso paste, soy sauce, mirin, and sesame oil. Add the scallops and coat them well in the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Scallops

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove scallops from the marinade, reserving the marinade. Sear scallops for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Add the reserved marinade to the skillet and cook for another minute, then remove from heat.

Make the Wasabi Butter Sauce

  1. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in wasabi paste and lemon juice until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serve

  1. 4

    Plate the Dish

Place the cooked scallops on a serving plate, drizzle with the wasabi butter sauce, and garnish with chopped green onions.
