Method

Meatloaf Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Meatloaf Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix until just combined.

  3. 3

    Shape and Bake

Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish. Bake for 1 hour or until meatloaf is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F).

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 4

    Boil Potatoes

In a large pot, boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 5

    Mash and Season

Drain potatoes, then return to pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 6

    Sauté Vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add mixed local vegetables, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Gravy Preparation

  1. 7

    Cook Mushrooms

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced wild mushrooms and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. 8

    Make Gravy

Sprinkle flour over mushrooms, stirring to combine. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Serve

Slice the meatloaf and serve it with a generous scoop of mashed potatoes, sautéed local vegetables, and a drizzle of wild mushroom gravy.
