Method

Wasabi Butter Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Wasabi Butter

In a mixing bowl, combine the unsalted butter, wasabi paste, lemon juice, and salt. Mix until well blended and smooth. Set aside.

Sushi Roll Assembly

  1. 2

    Prepare the Sushi Rice

Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, allow to cool slightly.

  2. 3

    Assemble the Rolls

On a bamboo sushi mat, place a nori sheet shiny side down. Spread a layer of sushi rice evenly on the nori, leaving a small border at the top. Lay tempura shrimp, cucumber, and avocado slices in a line across the middle of the rice. Roll the mat away from you while gently pressing to form a tight roll. Seal the edge with a bit of water.

  3. 4

    Slice the Rolls

Using a sharp knife, slice the roll into 6-8 pieces. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

Topping and Serving

  1. 5

    Add Toppings

Place the sushi rolls on a serving platter. Drizzle with sweet kabayaki sauce, then top with tobiko, toasted sesame seeds, and sliced green onions.

  2. 6

    Serve with Wasabi Butter

Serve the rolls with wasabi butter on the side for dipping.
