Falafel

Method

Falafel Preparation

  1. 1

    Blend Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, parsley, garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, flour, salt, and pepper. Pulse until a coarse mixture forms, scraping down the sides as needed.

  2. 2

    Form Balls

Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls or patties, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

  3. 3

    Fry Falafel

In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry the falafel in batches until golden brown on all sides, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Wrap Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Wrap

Lay out a wrap or pita bread. Spread a generous amount of Muhammara on the base.

  2. 5

    Add Fillings

Layer with local greens, diced tomato, pickled onions, and then add the fried falafel on top.

  3. 6

    Wrap It Up

Fold the sides of the wrap inwards and roll it tightly from the bottom up. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
