Main Ingredients

Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until well combined. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool the Cakes

Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Frosting

In a large bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until combined.

  2. 8

    Add Cream and Vanilla

Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, then beat on high speed until the frosting is light and fluffy.

  3. 9

    Frost the Cake

Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread a layer of frosting on top of one cake, place the second cake on top, and frost the top and sides.
