Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and trim excess fat.
- 2
Make the Dry Rub
In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- 3
Season the Ribs
Rub the dry rub mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Let sit for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for best flavor.
- 4
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 300°F or 150°C).
- 5
Cook the Ribs
Place the ribs on the grill bone side down. Cook for about 2 to 3 hours, turning occasionally and basting with barbecue sauce in the last 30 minutes.
- 6
Check for Doneness
The ribs are done when they are tender and the meat has pulled back from the bones slightly.
- 7
Serve
Remove ribs from the grill, let rest for 10 minutes, then cut into serving portions. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
