Chili Rub
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Rub
In a bowl, combine chili powder, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 2
Prepare the Brisket
Trim any excess fat from the brisket. Pat the brisket dry with paper towels.
- 3
Apply the Rub
Generously apply the chili rub all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated. Wrap the brisket in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 4
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C).
- 5
Cook the Brisket
Place the brisket in a roasting pan and cover it tightly with aluminum foil. Cook in the preheated oven for about 10-12 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
- 6
Rest the Brisket
Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
- 7
Serve
Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
