Ground Brisket Sloppy Joe
Method
Preparation
- 1
Cook the Vegetables
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the diced onion and green bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 2
Brown the Meat
Add the ground brisket to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Add Garlic
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- 4
Make the Sloppy Joe Sauce
Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine and simmer for about 10 minutes, until thickened.
- 5
Assemble the Sloppy Joes
Spoon the brisket mixture onto the bottom half of each hamburger bun. Top with shredded Pepper Jack cheese.
- 6
Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled sandwiches under a broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately with a side of hushpuppies and your choice of side.
