Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bolognese Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté until vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Mushrooms and Fennel

Stir in the chopped mushrooms and fennel. Cook for an additional 10 minutes, until the mushrooms have released their moisture and are browned.

  4. 4

    Add Tomato and Broth

Add the crushed tomatoes, vegetable broth, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.

  5. 5

    Combine with Pasta

Stir in the fresh basil and cooked pasta. Toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the Mushroom Bolognese hot, topped with toasted sunflower seeds for crunch.
