French Onion Dip

Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips

Method

French Onion Dip

  1. 1

    Prepare the Base

In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream and mayonnaise. Stir until smooth and well incorporated.

  2. 2

    Add Flavor

Add the French onion soup mix, chopped fresh chives, garlic powder, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  3. 3

    Chill

Cover the dip with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld together.

Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Slice them thinly using a mandoline or sharp knife to create even potato chips.

  2. 5

    Soak in Vinegar

Place the sliced potatoes in a bowl and cover them with white vinegar. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.

  3. 6

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  4. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 8

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add a handful of potato slices to the hot oil and fry until they are golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove them with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels.

  6. 9

    Season and Serve

Immediately sprinkle the hot chips with sea salt to taste. Allow them to cool slightly before serving alongside the French onion dip.
