Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare Bread

Cut the day-old bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Custard Mixture

  1. 3

    Mix Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, Porto Raison, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Combine

Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes and gently stir until all the bread is soaked.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake

Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  2. 6

    Cool

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Serve warm slices of custard bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, drizzled with additional Porto Raison if desired.
