Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Pat the yellowfin tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Cook the Tuna

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted and bubbling, add the tuna steaks. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  2. 3

    Make the Brown Butter Sauce

In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Allow it to melt, then continue cooking until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. 4

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the white soy sauce, scallions, and chives into the brown butter. Cook for another minute, stirring to combine all the flavors.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the Dish

Place the seared tuna steaks on a serving plate. Drizzle the brown butter sauce over the tuna, ensuring to include scallions and chives. Serve immediately.
