Crab Cake Ingredients

Spicy Remoulade Ingredients

Method

Crab Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and the egg. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Chop the green onions finely and add them to the crab mixture. Stir to combine.

  3. 3

    Add Bread Crumbs

Gradually add the bread crumbs to the mixture until it holds together but is not too dry. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Shape the Cakes

Form the mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Cooking the Crab Cakes

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 6

    Cook the Crab Cakes

Carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet, cooking in batches if necessary. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.

  3. 7

    Drain Excess Oil

Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Spicy Remoulade Preparation

  1. 8

    Mix the Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, capers, lemon juice, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.

  2. 9

    Adjust to Taste

Taste the remoulade and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or hot sauce to taste.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Crab Cakes

Serve the crab cakes warm with a generous dollop of spicy remoulade on top. Enjoy!
