1000 Island Dressing

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare 1000 Island Dressing

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet relish, white vinegar, and garlic powder. Mix well until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste. Set aside.

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 2

    Form the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form into thin patties.

  2. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 4

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the skillet until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a generous amount of the 1000 Island dressing on the bottom bun. Place the first patty with melted cheese on top, followed by a handful of shredded lettuce and a layer of fried pickles. Top with the second patty and finish with the top bun.
