Preparing the Jalapeños

Prepare Jalapeños
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for less heat if desired.

Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded jack cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Stuff the Jalapeños
Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, packing it in generously.

Fry the Jalapeños
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded jalapeños in batches and fry until golden brown (about 3-4 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
Making the Buttermilk Sauce

Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a bowl, mix buttermilk, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and chopped chives until smooth and well combined.
