Method
Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
Fill a large pot with water and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat.

Cook Pasta
Once the water is boiling, add 200g of pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside, saving a cup of the pasta water.
Making the Sauce

Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 3 minced cloves of garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add Tomatoes
Add 300g of halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until they start to soften.

Combine with Pasta
Add the drained pasta to the skillet along with 1 cup of chopped fresh basil and the saved pasta water. Toss together for 2-3 minutes until well combined.

Season
Sprinkle in 50g of grated Parmesan cheese and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir until the cheese melts and everything is well coated.
Adding Optional Ingredients

Include Add-ins
If desired, add 150g of sliced cooked chicken and/or 100g of spinach to the pasta and stir until heated through.
Serving

Plate the Pasta
Serve the pasta in bowls, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
