Preparing Burger Patties

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form Patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.
Making Piri Piri Sauce

Blend Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the Piri Piri peppers (seeds removed if less heat desired), garlic cloves, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt.

Adjust Seasoning
Blend until smooth. Adjust seasoning if necessary and set aside.
Cooking Burgers

Melt Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of manchego cheese on each patty to melt.
Assembling the Burger

Toast Buns
Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Spread Sauce
Spread a generous amount of Piri Piri sauce on the bottom half of each bun.

Add Patty and Arugula
Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top of the sauce, followed by a handful of arugula.

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
