Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the custard mixture

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Soak the bread

Dip each slice of brioche bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 30 seconds on each side, ensuring it’s well coated but not overly soggy.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the skillet

In a large skillet or griddle, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the French toast

Place the soaked brioche slices in the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the French toast

Serve the French toast warm on a plate. Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream, a handful of seasonal berries, and drizzle with maple syrup to taste.
