Method
Preparation
- 1
Clean the Chicken Livers
Rinse the chicken livers under cold water and remove any connective tissues or visible fat. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Chop the Vegetables
Finely chop the garlic cloves and onion. Set aside.
- 3
Prepare Thyme
Rinse the fresh thyme leaves and strip them from the stems. Set aside.
Cooking
- 4
Sauté Onions and Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 4-5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- 5
Cook the Chicken Livers
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the cleaned chicken livers to the skillet. Season with salt, black pepper, and fresh thyme. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the livers are browned on the outside but still slightly pink in the center.
- 6
Add Balsamic Vinegar and Butter
Reduce the heat to low, and stir in the balsamic vinegar and butter. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
Serving

Plate the Dish
Transfer the cooked chicken livers to a serving dish. Optionally, garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
