Chipotle Orange Cocktail Sauce

Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Preheat the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). This will give the shrimp a nice smoky flavor.

  2. 2

    Season the Shrimp

In a mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined jumbo shrimp with olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the shrimp are evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Smoke the Shrimp

Place the seasoned shrimp on the smoker rack. Smoke for about 30-35 minutes, or until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through. Make sure to keep an eye on them to prevent overcooking.

Making the Chipotle Orange Cocktail Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix the ketchup, fresh orange juice, minced chipotle peppers, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt. Stir until well combined.

  2. 5

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with additional salt if needed. If you prefer more heat, add more minced chipotle peppers.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Shrimp

Once the shrimp are done smoking, remove them from the smoker and let them rest for a few minutes.

  2. 7

    Serve with Sauce

Serve the smoked shrimp chilled or at room temperature with the chipotle orange cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
