Pimento Cheese

Bacon-Onion Jam

Burger Assembly

Method

Pimento Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Cheese

In a medium bowl, combine the sharp cheddar cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, pimentos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined and creamy. Set aside.

Bacon-Onion Jam Preparation

  1. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.

  2. 3

    Sauté the Onions

In the same skillet with the bacon fat, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

  3. 4

    Make the Jam

Stir in the brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes on low heat until the mixture thickens. Chop the cooked bacon and mix it back into the jam. Set aside.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Shape the Patties

Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  2. 6

    Cook the Burgers

Grill or pan-fry the patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired doneness.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns if desired. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, top with a burger patty, a generous scoop of pimento cheese, and a spoonful of bacon-onion jam. Add a slice of tomato and cover with the top half of the bun.
