Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this spice mixture all over the St. Louis ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Let the ribs sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). This low and slow cooking will help make the ribs tender.

  3. 3

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulling away from the bone.

  4. 4

    Add BBQ Sauce

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce. This will create a sticky, flavorful glaze.

Making the French Fries

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries. Rinse the cut fries in cold water to remove excess starch, then pat dry with a kitchen towel.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Fry the potatoes in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove fries with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

Preparing the Creamy Slaw

  1. 8

    Mix the Vegetables

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrots.

  2. 9

    Make the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 10

    Combine and Chill

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Toss well to combine. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
