Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, pressing down slightly in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Ensure it's hot enough to sear the meat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns and toast them on the grill or in a separate skillet until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer Toppings

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer lettuce, a cooked burger patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

  3. 8

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
