Pork Belly Bites

Method

Pork Belly Bites

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork Belly

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Cut the pork belly into 1-inch cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Season the Pork

Add brown sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and olive oil to the pork belly cubes. Mix well until the pork is evenly coated with the seasoning.

  3. 3

    Arrange on Baking Sheet

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the seasoned pork belly bites in a single layer on the baking sheet.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, or until the pork belly bites are tender and the fat is rendered, flipping halfway through.

  5. 5

    Crisp Up

Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the bites are crispy on the outside.

Apple Ginger Chutney

  1. 6

    Cook the Apples

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine diced green apples, grated ginger, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, and salt.

  2. 7

    Simmer

Bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and the chutney thickens slightly.

  3. 8

    Cool and Serve

Remove from heat and let the chutney cool to room temperature before serving it alongside the pork belly bites.
