Method
Preparation for Prime Rib Sub
- 1
Cook the Onions and Mushrooms
In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once hot, add the sliced onions and sauté for about 5 minutes until they become translucent. Next, add the sliced mushrooms and continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and any moisture has evaporated. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- 2
Heat the Prime Rib
In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced prime rib over medium heat. Cook for approximately 3-5 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally. If desired, season with a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance the flavor.
- 3
Assemble the Sub
Slice the sub rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through. Spread 1 tablespoon of horseradish sauce on the bottom half of each roll. Layer the heated prime rib, followed by the sautéed onions and mushrooms. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- 4
Melt the Cheese
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the assembled subs on a baking sheet and put them in the oven for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving the Dish
- 5
Prepare French Fries
While the subs are baking, prepare the French fries according to package instructions or make them from scratch. Serve alongside the Prime Rib Sub for a delicious meal.
- 6
Serve
Once the cheese is melted, remove the subs from the oven. Serve hot with additional horseradish sauce on the side for dipping, along with the French fries.
