Method

Prepare Noodles

  1. 1

    Cook the Lasagna Noodles

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and lay them flat on a clean kitchen towel to prevent sticking.

Make Cheese Filling

  1. 2

    Mix Cheese Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Assemble Lasagna

  1. 3

    Layer Ingredients

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by a third of the marinara sauce, and a third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers once more, starting with noodles, then ricotta, sauce, and mozzarella. Finish with a final layer of noodles topped with the remaining marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Bake

  1. 4

    Bake the Lasagna

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
