Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill/skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt. Cover the grill/skillet with a lid if necessary to help the cheese melt.

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf. Add one cheesy patty on top, followed by a slice of tomato and onion. Place the second cheesy patty on top, then drizzle with ketchup and mustard to taste. Finally, cap off with the top half of the bun.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the Double Crown Burger immediately while hot, with your favorite sides.
