Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Cook the Lasagna Noodles

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Meat Sauce

  1. 3

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Marinara Sauce

Drain any excess fat from the skillet. Stir in the marinara sauce, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes.

Cheese Mixture

  1. 5

    Mix the Cheese Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until smooth.

Assembling the Lasagna

  1. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by a third of the meat sauce. Repeat the layers, starting with the noodles, then ricotta, then meat sauce. Top with the remaining noodles and finish with the remaining meat sauce.

  2. 7

    Add Mozzarella

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the lasagna.

Baking

  1. 8

    Bake the Lasagna

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  2. 9

    Let it Rest

Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
