Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then generously season with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adding garlic cloves and rosemary to the skillet for flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before slicing.

Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prep the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about ¼ inch thick).

  2. 6

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Fry the potatoes in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
