Method

Preparation of Egg Batter

  1. 1

    Whisk the Ingredients

In a medium mixing bowl, crack the 2 large eggs and whisk them until well beaten. Add 1 cup of milk, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 0.5 tsp of cinnamon, and 0.25 tsp of salt. Continue whisking until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.

Cooking the French Toast

  1. 2

    Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Allow it to heat for a few minutes until hot.

  2. 3

    Dip the Brioche

Take the 4 slices of brioche bread and dip each slice into the egg batter, ensuring both sides are well coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off.

  3. 4

    Grill the Bread

Melt 2 tbs of butter in the heated skillet. Once melted and bubbling, place the coated brioche slices onto the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the French Toast

Once cooked, transfer the French toast to a serving plate. Dust the top with 2 tbs of powdered sugar, and drizzle maple syrup over the top to taste.
