Method

Preparation of Potatoes

  1. 1

    Wash and Cut Potatoes

Wash the Russet potatoes thoroughly under cold water. Cut them into thin fry shapes, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak in Water

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps in achieving a crispier texture.

  3. 3

    Drain and Pat Dry

After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

Jalapeno Mixture Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Jalapenos

Remove the stems and seeds from the fresh jalapenos. Finely chop them.

  2. 5

Mix with Olive Oil and Spices

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped jalapenos with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Cooking the Fries

  1. 6

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 7

    Coat the Fries

In a large mixing bowl, toss the dried potato fries with the jalapeno mixture until well-coated.

  3. 8

    Bake the Fries

Spread the coated fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve with Ketchup

Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve hot with a side of ketchup for dipping.
