Molten Butter Cake Ingredients

Method

Directions for Molten Butter Cake

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a ramekin or muffin tin.

2

Melt the Butter

In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat until completely liquid. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

3

Mix Wet Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, and whisk until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

5

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

6

Add Caramel Sauce

Pour about half of the cake batter into the prepared ramekin or muffin tin. Spoon 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce into the center, then cover with the remaining batter.

7

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is still slightly jiggly.

8

Cool and Serve

Let the cake cool for a few minutes, then invert onto a plate. Drizzle with remaining caramel sauce, sprinkle with pretzel toffee, and serve warm with scoops of vanilla gelato.
