Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Simple Syrup

If you don't have simple syrup on hand, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves completely. Allow to cool before using.

  2. 2

    Muddle Mint Leaves

In a shaker, add the fresh mint leaves. Use a muddler to gently press down on the leaves to release their oils and aroma, but do not tear them.

Mixing the Cocktail

  1. 3

    Add Ingredients to Shaker

To the shaker with the muddled mint, add 2 oz of Svedka vodka, 0.5 oz of lemon juice, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.

  2. 4

    Shake the Mixture

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

  3. 5

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. If desired, top with 2 oz of club soda for a sparkling version.

Garnishing

  1. 6

    Garnish the Cocktail

Add a lemon wheel on the rim of the glass and a few additional mint leaves for garnish.
