Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Cooking the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Broiler
Preheat your broiler on high for about 5 minutes.
- 4
Broil the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on a broiler pan. Broil the chicken for 6-7 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- 5
Flip and Add Toppings
Flip the chicken breasts over and place the bacon strips on top of each piece. Broil for another 3-4 minutes.
- 6
Add Cheese
Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the bacon and return to the broiler. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
- 7
Serve
Remove the chicken from the broiler and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
