Prepare Chicken

Season the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

Prepare Breading Station
Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. Place flour in the first dish, beaten eggs in the second, and a mixture of bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese in the third.

Bread the Chicken
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into beaten eggs, then coat with the bread crumb and Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Cook Chicken

Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a baking dish.
Make Marinara Sauce

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Add the canned crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and let simmer for about 15 minutes.
Assemble and Bake

Top with Marinara and Cheese
Pour marinara sauce over the fried chicken breasts. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, and serve hot over pasta or with a side salad.
