Method

Preparing the Cajun Tuna

  1. 1

    Season the Tuna

Pat the fresh tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Rub both sides of the tuna with olive oil, then sprinkle with Cajun spice blend, salt, and black pepper. Ensure an even coating.

  2. 2

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. You want it hot enough to sear the tuna quickly.

  3. 3

    Cook the Tuna

Place the seasoned tuna steaks on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time to your preference for doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest and Slice

Once cooked, remove the tuna from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.

Making the Cajun Remoulade Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Cajun spice blend, lemon juice, chopped pickles, chopped green onions, and garlic powder.

  2. 6

    Mix Well

Stir all the ingredients together until well blended and smooth. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

  3. 7

    Chill

Cover the remoulade sauce and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
