Method

Preparing the Fish

  1. 1

    Marinate the Fish

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the fish fillets and coat them well. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Fish

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the fish from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Remove from heat and set aside.

Making the Cabbage Slaw

  1. 3

    Combine Slaw Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix together shredded cabbage, grated carrot, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Toss well to combine and set aside to let the flavors meld.

Preparing the Pico de Gallo

  1. 4

    Mix Pico de Gallo Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Stir until well mixed and set aside.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 5

    Warm the Tortillas

Heat the corn tortillas on a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until warm and pliable.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Tacos

On each tortilla, layer grilled fish, a handful of cabbage slaw, a spoonful of pico de gallo, and a few slices of avocado. Serve immediately.
