Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash and Cut Potatoes

Thoroughly wash the Russet potatoes under cold running water to remove any dirt. Cut the potatoes into evenly sized sticks, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak Potatoes

Place the cut potato sticks in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and will make the fries crispier.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature is essential for achieving crispy fries.

  2. 4

    Drain and Dry Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Removing moisture is key to crispy fries.

  3. 5

    Season Potatoes

In a large bowl, toss the dried potato sticks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and dried oregano until evenly coated.

  4. 6

    Arrange on Baking Sheet

Spread the seasoned potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they are not overcrowded for even cooking.

  5. 7

    Bake the Fries

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through the cooking time for even browning. Bake until they are golden brown and crispy.

  6. 8

    Cool and Serve

Once done, remove the fries from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your seasoned fries hot!
