Baking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease four ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.

  3. 3

    Whisk Eggs and Sugar

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and egg yolks until pale and slightly thickened. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring constantly to prevent the eggs from cooking. Once combined, add the flour and salt, and mix until just incorporated.

  5. 5

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.

  6. 6

    Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center remains soft.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let sit for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate and gently lift to release the cake. Serve immediately for a molten center.
