Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

  2. 2

    Prepare Cheddar

Grate the NYS cheddar cheese if not pre-shredded.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Ingredients

In a bowl, mix the BBQ sauce with the cooked bacon, reserving some bacon for topping if desired.

  4. 4

    Layer the Dish

In a baking dish, spread half of the BBQ sauce and bacon mixture, then sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese on top. Repeat with the remaining BBQ sauce and top with the rest of the cheddar.

  5. 5

    Add Fried Onions

Sprinkle the fried onions evenly over the top layer of cheddar.

  6. 6

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm as a delicious BBQ dish.
