Chicken Tenders

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken tenders, making sure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In another bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Coat the Chicken

Remove the chicken tenders from the marinade, shaking off excess liquid. Dredge each tender in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the coated chicken tenders in the hot oil, a few at a time, to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Use a thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with sweet pickles and hot honey, alongside cole slaw and your choice of side.
